Hinda Weiss

Artist talk at EFA

"Artis, in partnership with the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts (EFA), invites you to a talk with photographer and video artist Hinda Weiss, who is currently an artist in residence at EFA, supported by Artis. In her practice, Hinda creates landscape compositions that are charged with local histories and reflect on contemporary human existence. Using video and sound manipulation, as well as digital adaptation techniques, Hinda merges footage from different places and times to visualize non-existent yet familiar environments. During the talk, Hinda will share Eastern Skies Blush (2020-2022), a multi-channel video installation presented at the artist’s solo exhibition at ArtPort in Tel Aviv (2021). The work explores ways in which the uses of public and private spaces have changed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hinda will also present her video installation, Among Graves and Ruins (2019), which was filmed in and around the Rockefeller Museum in Jerusalem. The work portrays a dystopian landscape of Jerusalem, as seen through the museum’s archeological findings".
